Michs memoirs

By mdemaat

I don’t like Mondays usually, and today was no different. I repetitively snoozed my alarm, not willing to get up, until I really didn’t have a choice anymore. I even sacrificed my morning cuppa for 5 minutes longer in bed. But after a bit of music and me time on the train to uni, I finally sort of woke up.

Today’s French seminar consisted of listening to French music like this. It was pretty cool but to be honest, I didn’t really understand very much by listening to it. Woops.

In the afternoon I helped a friend to sort out a French bank account, which surprisingly we managed to do very easily. Hana, Ida and I then tried to make our way to Parc Tête d’or, which is a huge and beautiful park/zoo at the other side of the Rhône. But.....we got lost. So we pulled out every kind of map we were carrying with us in the hope to find our bearings again. I was too stubborn to ask for directions, because that’s just not what I do, neither do I ever think to look at the signs on the streets. We must have looked absolutely hilarious to anyone passing by but we were determined to find out for ourselves where we were going. After a good few minutes of struggling, we admitted to a lady walking past that we had no clue where we were, and needed help getting to where we wanted to go.

We finally made it to the park, which was beautiful. We sat, talked, and just enjoyed the late afternoon sun. So despite my grumpy morning, it was a pretty good monday.
