Il Pleut Comme Des Cordes
Kid’s Club backup rain plan forced into motion, a film followed by colouring which worked rather well. Luckily I had ‘Pirates in an Adventure with Scientists’ with me on my laptop, which worked in perfectly with the pirate plan for the rest of the week. Few “wriggle stops” every now and then as we had quite a few five year olds, meaning that they all distracted each other! Was really cute to see the kids pretending to be all types of “bean”:-
- Green bean – pretend to be sick
- Long bean – arms up, stretch out
- Runner bean – run on the spot
- Jumping bean – jump up and down
- Broad bean – wide as possible
- Jelly bean – wobble like a jelly
- Chilli bean – fan mouth
- Frozen bean – shiver
- Kidney bean – touch toes
- French bean – “Ooh la la” (nothing like national stereotypes!)
After Kids Club the weather brightened up, sod’s law isn’t it? We managed a gas delivery, cleaned reception again and found new places for the things Richard brought with him. I have no idea how we’re meant to manage with the amount of stuff we had in the first place, let alone with all the stuff we’ve been left with now…sometimes I don’t think they are thinking about us at all. The day ended with my first curry in an absolute age, which was amazing…all credit going to Thom’s mum of course! Thom and I made garlic bread to add to the meal, but that was pretty much all we could manage in the time we had left at the end of our day! From how quickly it disappeared I think it was appreciated! Was so lovely to spend time with Thom’s family, they are so welcoming and seem genuinely interested about what you’re telling them!
These two rather handsome boys are mine, Thom and Gizmo. Gizmo is such lovely cat, even if he does look a bit ugly, and like Gizmo from Gremlins
…but he is just adorable, and so loving. We seemed to have accidentally adopted him, as he is coming in for cuddles every day without us feeding him or anything!
