Tossed about

Was enjoying a quiet afternoon in the flat when G suddenly exclaimed, "look out the window - there's a really bad sandstorm!" Wow! What a freak storm - not forecast; it REALLY shook the trees. For us, it felt more pronounced as we have such a great view of them from the first floor.

G was quicker off the mark with her camera to capture it. I went out to the the open window on the landing and got some shots. You can just about see the leaves and branches being tossed. This is about 5:20pm and normally there would be loads of kids playing in the garden, but they all went home!

The temperature dropped nicely for about an hour but went back up again later to the mid 30s. The amount of dust in the air was just awful with visibility reduced to 100m in some open areas. We had to go out in the evening and it was amazing how clear the sky was after the wind dropped, and we are now told that it might be very dusty the next two days.

We're having a bit of weather! :)

Sorry this isn't more exciting. It is not advisable to go out into these for obvious reasons...
