Great Cormorant (phalacrocorax carbo) Colony
A much zoomed photo as the Great Cormorants (phalacrocorax carbo) are protected and you have to keep well away from their breeding colonies. The Grangettes Nature Reserve at the Eastern end of Lake Geneva, has at least 81 breeding pairs apparently, which is amazing as the Cormorants only arrived in Switzerland in 2001! Who said,"like rabbits"?
If you want to see a male in breeding plumage, here he is, in all his glory!
I felt this needed a frame and snapseed provided one for me!
Large to identify the mountains in the background.
