The Tree Fella
I've read that there are 55 million leylandii in the UK - that's almost one for every person. Today, there are about twenty less! The dividing leylandii hedge between the back garden and the neighbour's garden has gone. Thousands of people are locked in disputes over these giants hedges, and in 2005 legislation was introduced to limit their height. However, we were in total agreement the trees had to go.
This multiple blip shows the transformation. Top left is the view towards the hedge at 10am; top right is The Tree Fella (great name!) toppling the branches; bottom right is the critical process of shredding the material to a manageable volume. The last picture of the quartet was taken at lunchtime from the same position as the first one. Our neighbour's conservatory is at last seeing the light of day!
