Through the wing of a DH.89 Dragon Rapide

This was the icing on the cake for me at the Duxford Air show - a flight in this gorgeous 8-seater communications and light transport bi-plane wiki. T, on the other hand, whilst he loved it of course was not so keen on having to pay for being a passenger - he'd rather have flown it himself!!

The show was fabulous but under very grey skies at times and cold towards the end of the day - but hey, the rain kept off. Sad that the French Aerobatic Team with their Alpha Jets weren't able to close the show for some reason, but they did come on Sunday and on our way home we stopped off in a field by the side of the road and had a wonderful view of them, better than if we had been inside the show itself!

As ever it took ages to leave the show car park but once back at the pub we had an hour to put our feet up, change into our glad rags and then join our friend, Shirley, in the next room for a bottle of something fizzy before going off for another gourmet dinner. After all this wonderful food, I feel a diet coming on next week.
