The Packing Shed
Following our visit for her birthday last year, Clare decided that we should hire the Packing Shed for the night. We've had this booked for months, so it felt quite strange that it was finally here. After a mammoth supermarket shop for supplies (mainly booze), and a race against the tide waiting for Charlie who was stuck in traffic, we caught the boat over on choppy seas and were left to our own devises for the next 18 hours. We filled it with part-lit BBQs, silly games, booze, and star gazing. The skies were incredibly clear, and we spent ages outside searching for shooting stars. Perhaps the best moment came when we noticed the bright blue flashes in the sea; bioluminescence! I'd never seen it before, we spent ages stirring it up with sticks watching it, and Ellie and Clare went in for a 1am dip. Although the water felt warm to the touch, I think it got a lot colder for a swim! It had been a lovely sunny day, but the night got very cold, and when it was bed time, a roll-mat didn't really make for the most comfortable sleep. I got about 2 hours I think!
