Somebody doesn't live here any more......

All these little homes along the river are now abandoned and being demolished. They were built in the 50s as State housing, and have been lived in ever since. They will be all native timber floors etc, but nothing will be saved, generally not even the mature garden trees. One day the house is there, next day there's an empty plot of land and nothing to show for the history of the families that lived here.

This house is 319 River Road. The windows are boarded up in an attempt to stop looters and squatters getting in.

Have back blipped September 6th and 7th - a view of Kaikoura Bay, and a wondering albatross.
