Nature's Geometry

We've really been enjoying our first ever sunflower crop! To think, we grew these from seeds! Here's a shot from my wife's blog that shows Sarah under the crop, about 10 days ago.

This flower is the runt of the crop. It sits under the tallest one, barely 6 feet tall (his brother stands over 13 feet right next to him). The closer I got, the more mesmerizing the patterns, so I spent some (handheld) time trying to capture it. Probably better if I'd stabilized, but I'm pleased with how crisp it turned out.
