Red-Shouldered Hawk
Labor Day, last day camping at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve
-we've seen a lot of deer this trip, had a Pigmy Rattler in the grass of our site- right near the dogs, saw crayfish on the road, and have really enjoyed watching the sky. With a 360 degree (horizontally) view out here, it's interesting to watch the storms coming, stargaze at night, and see sunrise and sunset by just turning around. We saw a sunset between thunderstorm clouds, and there were numerous rainbows.
Since the first time I ever got fairly close shots of a Red-Shouldered Hawk was at this park, (you can get closer to all the wildlife driving down the roads here than if you approach them on foot), a trip here doesn't feel complete if I don't at least see one.
P.S. I actually did approach this one on foot, which is why it's already screaming, and it flew right over me immediately following this shot
