Busman's holiday
Well, he lasted a week (although really he did do some small jobs in the first week), but as the weather today was cooler and we have had no sunshine, just dark forebidding clouds, my lovely plumber went to the paint warehouse this morning and has started repainting the interior of the house that we are staying in. We get the villa super cheap from friends of mum's and every year, Corin fixes things, services the air conditioning units, makes sure the irrigation system is working and between us we give the house a thorough "Kim and Aggie" style clean from top to bottom. This year, Corin had offered to paint the master bedroom for them, but that is likely to turn into the master bedroom, the staircase walls and the living room - all the walls are white and are showing signs of 10 years wear and tear.
So we're sleeping in the spare room tonight.
We would have slept on the balcony except for the fact that at some point it is going to royally heave it down, so best not to chance it.
Waiting for a couple of friends to come over - one of my colleagues from work has a villa about an hours drive away so she text me to say she was coming over after going out for a meal. If they find us, I'll be very impressed.
Headache finally went at about 7.30 this evening - nearly 48 hours with a blinder. Worst headache for a long while. Not alcohol related just in case anyone was wondering.
Praying for a storm so I can try and get some lightning photos.
Fingers crossed
(The irony in those last two sentences is that up until 2 years ago i was utterly terrified of thunderstorms - irrational, but even so, I would hide if it thundered. Now I am desperate to capture lightning in a photo, my fear has gone!)
