Lake Timara

Every year Fairhall School, which is out in the country near Blenheim, runs a fund-raising event. Today was the day and it was all hands on deck, teachers, parents and pupils, to make the event a success. Once again they focused on a wonderful location out in the country. It is “Timara Lodge” which is a boutique lodge. This venue is privately owned, expensive and exclusive. The lodge caters for a small number of guests, often celebrities looking for a private hide-away.
The Lodge is set in extensive park like surroundings, with sweeping lawns, enormous trees, landscaped gardens with lovely garden art and a large ornamental lake. It is a magical spot.
The main garden attraction at this time of the year is the display of spring bulbs, daffodils galore in a lovely grassed woodland setting.
The grounds, lakeside and gardens were open to the public for only three hours today. The folk from Fairhall School really had their work cut out to provide Devonshire Teas, and other refreshments. There were school folk on hand all over the property as guides to see that the public respected the property and stayed in the designated areas.
The public streamed in from the 1.pm opening time. The weather was kind in and around the grounds. There was a very strong nor-west wind blowing but it was very sheltered within the property. The daffodils danced gently in the sun, hundreds of different varieties, and along with other spring bulbs made for magical scenes. There were a large number of cameras out and about and I met up with at least two other Blippers. All in all a most successful day for Fairhall School and the general public
