Tui Tree

To borrow a cliche, we experienced all four season here today. Bright blue sky when I went in to work at 8, rain mid morning, blue sky again for lunch, more rain early afternoon, then blue sky again late in the day.

This was taken late in the day, hence the intensity of colour.

I discovered this tree that the tuis and pigeons were having a field day in. At one point it had 4 wood pigeons and 7 tuis all feeding madly in it. I have no idea what the tree is, or what aspect of the spring growth they were enjoying so much, but it was a great sight.

And a real sound treat too as the tui sang to each other and challenged the pigeons.
