Disaster strikes.
As I'm not a particularly domestic person, the suggestion that I should carry out a load of washing was an anomaly to me. My wife having recently succumbed to a recent illness, prompted me to carry out this unenviable task.
To make up a sufficient load for the washing machine I decided to add my slacks that had begun to show the need of restoration. Now as this is not a task to which I am familiar, caused me to throw in my slacks without the usual check of the pockets. My wife indicated that to check the pockets was mandatory even for those people not laundry trained.
Well as can be seen by the photo, an item was also washed in the load. Upon retrieval, it was obvious that the phone was history and I feared that the SIM card had also been washed of its contents which to me would have caused greater consternation.
Fitting the SIM card into another phone quickly alleviated my worry and its contents remained intact. An expensive exercise so the moral of the story is - "Husbands, keep out of the Laundry".
