Gamelan

Today Lincoln Firebird Community Gamelan were holding an open day at the local community centre. I'd heard of Gamelan before, but had been under the mistaken impression that it was some sort of martial art. Shows how wrong you can be! It is actually Javanese tuned percussion. There were several types of instruments, including xylophone-type things, and various types of drums. Like this, everything is very ornate and colourful. I love the serpents on the top of this.
