Door to Nowhere
On leaving Cambridge I called in at Stowe Landscape Gardens a National Trust estate in Buckingham on an extremely hot day.
The extensive estate contains lakes bridges and more than 40 temples some of which are enormous and serve no real purpose other than to sit in the landscape like an 18th Century painting.
I rather liked this door which seemed to open into the landscape. The metal faces embedded in the door can be seen in Large.
