Praying Mantis

I believe this is a Carolina Mantis, the most common praying mantis of North America.

(Please correct me if I am wrong.)

I wasn't quite sure what I was going to blip today. I decided not to blip a picture of my daughter running in a cross country meet. I was thinking of blipping the ginger in full bloom...but saw this wonderful creature on one of the leaves just below the bloom as I was trying to compose my picture. I decided to save the blossom for another day since I keep seeing more and more ginger buds in the garden.
