Double digit delight

Each and every year, Luca tells us that his birthday present is the best present ever.
But this year's was even better than the best ever present he got last year.

And each year it totally feels worthwhile to make a big fuss around his birthday.

One thing I really love about the kids, is that they do not do blasé.
Not yet.
I had to rent a car for the last couple of days to attend some training at the other end of the city.
Going for a spin in the rental car was a major event.
They liked the smell of the "new" car. "Dad, I LOVE the smell!" (that was Mimi, her nostrils wide wide excitement)
They liked the sound of the stereo in the "new" car. "Dad, the radio sounds REALLY good in the new car!" (that was Luca, his ears buzzing with excitement)
They liked the familiarity of the "new" car. "Dad, I'm already getting used to the new car!" (that was Finn, as we were getting onto the main road, after travelling 500 yards within the estate).

Luca, today again you made our life exciting.
