Flawless Fuchsias
Sorry again, Paul, but couldn't resist the perfection of these fuchsias after the rain. I can never get over flowers that have two colours like this - shame they're so common we hardly see them.
Fuchsias were first discovered (by Westerners) in about 1696 on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola by a French monk, who named it after the German botanist, Leonhart Fuchs (which explains the spelling). There are now 110 recognized species.
