Went to WI tonight with Sarah who came along as a guest and who has a very similar blip to this but with more information! The talk was given by one of our members about the costume collection in Colchester and Ipswich museums and this bag from around 1800 was beautiful.

Of the many things I learnt tonight one of my favourite facts is that shoes never used to be left or right specific!
