Love padlocks on Eiserner Steg, Frankfurt

The Eiserner Steg is a pedestrian-only bridge over the river Maine. As you can see, lovers attach signed and locked padlocks to the side of the bridge as symbols of undying love. There are many such padlocks, but it is not clear that they are removed when love turns sour.
