Choppy

15.0C with plenty of clouds and a strong breeze.

There is a different feel to the weather today. The warmth has gone. It is cloudy, but not dull, and the breeze has shifted more to the North.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for a walk after lunch. There are round bales of straw in the field across the road from the side of the house. Walking along the road past the old school and the church we could see lots of round bales in the fields over towards the A92.

In the field with the bridle path there isn't a bale to be seen. The straw was baled into big rectangular bales on Wednesday afternoon and collected into stacks on Wednesday evening. We saw the tractors working late into the evening, their lights shining across the fields, when we took Maeve out for her late night stroll. They must have been moved from the field during Thursday or this morning.

I let Maeve off her lead in the field and she followed me for a while. Then she stopped to investigate something. After a while she jogged after me. No high speed running today.

Down on the beach we noticed the sea was choppy. Maeve had a little paddle as we walked along. One of the smaller boats (Margaret) was being winched up from the beach. Valhalla VI was moored in the inner channel. Signs of Autumn and some wind to come perhaps.
