The Wild West

. . . . Coast of NZ - Piha, to be precise.

A notorious beach, much loved by surfers and swimmers alike, Piha has a reputation for wild weather, wild surf and dangerous conditions. It would have been tricky out there today. This shot shows the seaward side of Lion Rock, and some of the sea stacks beyond.

In Auckland for a family gathering today, to celebrate my brother-in-law's life and mourn his passing, I went out to Piha this morning with my cameraman-son, for a short work stint for him.
