Left behind

A long, deserted beach and a cold wind. A few dog walkers and nothing other than empty shells and an old, dead tree that had been washed up on the sand...

... and a pair of jeans...

... that someone had left behind.

Why would you leave your jeans behind? Surely they would be missed? Surely?
