Worship the Stamen

I decided to try a bit more macro photography, so I returned to the hellebore and got this shot of what looks to be a pregnant Aphid (either that, or it's been eating too much chocolate, like me!). It had some babies with it, and there were a few more on the other side of the flower. They seemed content to just sit there, not moving at all.

I thought maybe they were praying to the stamen. Probably not!

According to the Metservice, it's currently 16 degrees in Timaru, so goodness knows why I feel so cold today. I'm actually thinking about getting the fire going...
