Our first Red Admiral of the year
... at least the first one I've seen in our garden. It had settled on a neighbours shirt which was hanging on the washing line but unfortunately the washing was blowing ever so slightly in the wind. So more blurry images than sharp ones at this focal length. (I should have set the aperture a little smaller too).
I've been in the garden virtually all day today - making the most of the beautifully sunny day. Lots more cutting back shrubs and the green bins filled in time for them to be emptied in the morning. Merv has rebuilt a dry-stone wall in the garden so that it will hold more soil - he was hoping to put some dabs of cement on the back tomorrow to help keep them safe and in place. The forecast is for rain with a ten degree C drop in temperature. I'd like the sunshine to last just a wee bit longer before Autumn settles in.
