More moth trap goodies!

I love running my moth trap! It is just so exciting in the morning opening the top, and checking all the egg boxes to see what little jems have flown through your garden during the hours of darkness.
Last night was no exception! It was warm, and a bit cloudy (really good moth catching conditions), and when I went to bed I checked my trap, and there were numerous moths buzzing around a very good sign.
I was NOT disappointed, there were loads of moths in the trap when I emptied it this morning, sadly most of them were Yellow underwings of one sort or another, and several wasps!
However there was also a Gothic, a Light emerald, a Green carpet, and this really beautiful Burnished brass Diachrysia chrysitis.
I have always liked Burnished brass moths, because they shine like they have been painted in 24 carat gold, and have the most amazing sticky uppey hair do! They are common in the UK and are often found in gardens. The species is double brooded, and is on the wing between June and September.
Hope you like him, I think he's stunning!
