Popping out

A bit of fun for Hubs on his Birthday today as he went shooting sporting clays at Chatcombe. I tagged along to practise my bullet in-flight shots!

It's a fabulous set up and the owner was the Olympic GB head coach till he retired last year. You walk from trap to trap each of which tax you on different disciplines; keeping score as you go. It has a 120' high tower and grouse Butt. My antics with the camera didn't seem to put him off - luckily and I've got to say didn't see him miss many!

Started off with a pretty tame camera speed and finished up with the maximum it could give me at 1/8000 with the ISO set to automatic. With Hubs giving countdowns as to when he'd break the gun open I rattled through the frames at a good rate of knots hoping to just get something other than smoke in the frame. It was still a matter of luck as to whether 6 fps would actually get anything. Out of the few many hundreds of shots it was this penultimate one that caught them just popping out of the barrel.

We headed off further into the Cotswolds for a yummy outdoor pub lunch in the countryside which we were ready for by that time. Very nice!

The tekkie side: This is a Beretta DT10 using today Fiocchi 28g FBLU plastic cartridges.
No animals were harmed during the taking of these pictures :)) !! But.. you would know that if you have been following my journal :)
