The Great Tapestry of Scotland

I'd urge everyone to get along to see this amazing piece of work if you get the chance - genuinely moving and powerful.

It is what it says in the title - a huge tapestry of Scotland's history and culture - spread across panels created and stitched communities the length and breadth of the land.

It is currently in the lobby at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh. I knew it was there when I was heading down for a meeting today, but I wasn't prepared for either its scale or its touching beauty.

An unexpected thing of wonder and delight!
