An unexpected visitor

We were tidying the shed this afternoon when this frog came to see what we were doing. It hopped through the piles of wood and rock that were on the lawn and down to the patio. Thinking it was lost we caught it and put in up the garden in the shade out of the sun. Almost instantly it made its way back towards the bird bath and I got this picture as it made its way through the Montbretia. I took a few but liked this one best. A few minutes later it was happily sitting in the bird bath for a cool down.

Despite living close to the centre of Edinburgh and not having a pond anywhere near us, we have a surprising number of frogs in the garden.
