Herdwick Ewe, Bowland Barn And Bowland Farm
The Herdwick is a breed of domestic sheep native to the Lake District of Cumbria in North West England. The name "Herdwick" is derived from the Old Norse herdvyck, meaning sheep pasture.
The colour of Herdwick wool has been described as 50 shades of grey.
You do not see many Herdwick sheep in Bowland where the Swaledale is more popular.
