Now taking pride of place outside the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection, this 1955 fully restored Hawker Hunter. Last flew in 1991 with the famous Empire Test Pilots School. Been outside in the open for ten years before the volunteer engineers got it, removing the rainwater from all those years was a big problem. Now in the Empire colours. The Collection at Old Sarum airfield, near Salisbury ,is open to the public.
The bloke having his photo taken with the plane -- not me -- he was a Russian Navy pilot on holiday. Said he had been to Yeovilton RNAS museum, and had more or less been told to clear off with his camera. Did speak to him,and his wife (a magistrate). There English was a lot better than my Russian.
