Stratford

Having had a fairly lazy morning, well I did, Ann was painting the front door, we finally dragged ourselves into town this afternoon.

We booked at table at Wildwood Kitchen, a newly opened Italian restaurant, for Sunday lunch to celebrate Ann’s birthday with the family. Then instead of going to our usual we decided to try Hurray’s as recommended by JaneW. The place was buzzing, obviously very popular with younger people and parents bringing their children for an after school ice cream. We sat in the window and had a coffee, resisting the ice cream for now.

The resistance didn’t last long and we sat on the wall by Shakespeare’s birthplace to have an ice cream from the street seller and watch the people. The evening was drawing on and the crowds thinning as shops closed up but the sun was still strong and it felt good to be out.

The photo is the view behind where we were sitting, being part of the garden of the birthplace. I thought the colours and shadows looked good in the late afternoon sun.
