London Life: Hot news...

….and for once I mean it literally.

Many of you blippers out there will have heard of, seen or taken pictures of a building being built in central London nicknamed the ‘Walkie Talkie’ because of the shape of the building.

The building has now made news because as it nears completion, over the last few days it created a bit of a stir. It would seem that the mainly glass building because of its curved shape, when the sun now hits it a corridor of hot reflected sunlight is being beamed downwards to the nearby main road which a temperature reading being caught the other day on the roadside at 90*c (194*f). Indeed it was so hot a few days ago that it melted the side of a car and people have complained about it being so hot that they are burning just walking past.

So today with all the commotion the building was descended upon by news crews frying eggs on the pavements etc, unfortunately for them the clouds came out today so the phenomenon was not repeated but I am sure that the crews will all be back.

In other news it seems that I confused lots of you out there yesterday with my transfer deadline day blip (the worst blip I have done in a long time), for those of you who didn’t understand I won’t bore you with the details, for those of you who did, just to say that I am delighted with the business that our Harry pulled off yesterday.
