Erke
The Erke word comes from the Latin word arca, which means cabinet or chest. It is a case-shaped gutter, which increases the pressure of the water by narrowing as is customary with windmills. The Erke has connection with the sluice in the place where the trench is split in the old city moat on the "Walramplein", "de Geultak", and "Molentak".
