Oxford Grotesques

I spent a second enjoyable day in Oxford before travelling on to Cambridge.

One of the joys of Oxford architecture is seeking out the details that most people miss. There are thousands of stone carved gargoyles on all the historic buildings some so hidden that they are hardly ever seen.

These figures are to be seen at Balliol College and the Bodleiian Library.

I also explored Magdalen College the Botanic Gardens both highly recommended.

Opposite Christchurch College can be found the Oxford ice cream bar which has the best ice cream you will ever taste.
