Home comforts

After a long day we have finally arrived at our temporary Icelandic home! Because there are no direct flights from Belfast we had to leave very early this morning, then spend a few hours in Edinburgh, so we went into the city for some lunch and window shopping. Then there was the flight to Keflavik, bus to Reykjavik and then a shuttle to our apartment building. Unfortunately the key they were supposed to leave for us wasn't there, so we had another wait for someone to arrive to let us in.

But we're finally here, and it's a really cool little apartment! Lots of quirky furniture, a nice little kitchen and the walls are wallpapered with pages from an Encyclopaedia so no shortage of reading material (we seem to have 'V' and 'W'). Emma has changed straight into her pyjamas so I'm guessing we're not going partying tonight!

Emma was also obviously a bit worried that we might be eating rotting fish for breakfast, because she just produced this box of cornflakes from her suitcase. Always prepared :)

PS: I just spotted the 'last year' thumbnail, on this day last year I shot one of my absolute favourite weddings ever! A Canadian couple, getting married on the side of a hill overlooking a Scottish castle. Just the two of them with me as a witness and photographer. Such an honour for me, very happy memories :)
