Rock Art
I've seen a lot of rock art today, all the heavy curb stones around the passage tomb at Knowth were decorated with different carvings. I was in awe at the scale of this mound, this one is unusual as it has two passages, one facing east, the other to the west, they are aligned with the sun at the equinoxes.
Later I headed off to the passage tomb at Newgrange, one is able to walk to 19 meters through the passage to the inner chamber. The interpretive center was very good and I learnt a lot. Although I loved the peace at Loughcrew. I can see that so many visitors, mainly Americans and Japanese tourists need a bit of organising!
Supper out tonight in Trim, the castle in this town was the largest and most impressive that I've seen in Ireland.
