The lonely leaf and the shadow

The nights are fairly drawing in (as they say) and because I rarely get away from work before 7pm that means it's nearly dark by the time I take the dogs out after tea. So this photo was taken on the walk to work this morning.

We had some friendly controversy at home deciding what I should blip; my son favoured one, Emily another and Denise a third. I was outvoted about featuring more legs, so following the single transferable vote system of proportional representation, this is the most favoured image. Emily clinched it by appealing to my emotional side ("I love that lonely leaf and the shadow").
