We had such a magical afternoon in the woods today. We went to a different bit to where we have really explored before and found a hidden wonderland. Large (and extremely well made) rope swings, both big and small. Massive scrambling hills. Huge climbing trees. And looooooooots of places for hide and seek. She did a lot of really good climbing and scrambling, going up just to slide down, to do it all over gain. Lots of times. She said "can we go find a park?". I said "look- you've found places to climb, places to slide, places to swing, all here". She thought about it, as she stood there wonderfully dishevelled, hair windswept, knees dirty, and she said "this is lots better than the park isn't it."

We enjoyed a really lovely dinner in Ask- she had declared the restaurant should be a pizza one and we managed to find one thankfully. We had a lovely snugly bedtime after a rather magical afternoon.
