Life back on the road - Dubai

September looks like a busy month on the orad again after all the summer holidays our clients have been having.

In Dubai for a couple of days seeing customers....but it looks like we may have just nailed our biggest contract to date. So we celebrated with Wagu fillet steaks at the J W Marriot Steakhouse tonight.

Back on the plane tomorrow home. Managed to blag an upgrade to business, but it was really painful and Emirates messed up a lot....I'm not happy.

Tried to upgrade online - but was just short on points. But I could buy a few topup points for £70!. However the website didn't seem to allow me to buy miles.

So 20 mins on the phone with the call centre - they could not manage. So I was at the airport already - so went to the Emirates Ticket desk. They coud sell me the miles but not complete the upgrade.

So back to the call centre, they could reserve an upgrade seat, but didn't see the extra miles. Turned out the ticket desk had credited them to another passenger!. Call centre could not sort it and suggested I went to the airport desk.

The airport desk sorted their original problem, but couldn't check me in as I had already done an online check in (to make sure I had an aisle). So I was sent to a check-in desk to "offload" myself.

Back to the ticket desk - but they still could not upgrade.

Onto the call centre - who then informed me my ticket could only be upgraded on the day (tomorrow) if there were spaces.

At that point - I must admit I was getting angry.

They them put me on hold for 30 mins and finally got it sorted.

So 2.5 hrs to sort my booking, for what should have been a 5 min online transaction.

Emirates let us all down today!
