Up North

I got a chance to have a good look at my latest photobook The North by John Bulmer.

It's a collection based around four assignments John Bulmer made to the North of England in the late sixties and early seventies, commissioned by the Sunday Times and Geo Magazine, when the country was changing, with massive housing programmes destroying the old towns.

It did strike me that there's no vehicle to tell these stories any more. Sure everyone can display their work on the interweb, like here on Blip but I can't think of any publications that commit to documenting societal change a real pity.

Anyway, a great collection well worth a look.
