Mela Fashion Show
As well as music, dance and food another part of the Mela is fashion, I was back again today and met up with friends as "The Orb" were due to be playing in the evening. The weather was not as good as yesterday, no sun and a bit windy. After stopping by the main stage to watch a bit of the fashion show we decided to have a couple pints at the beer tent/garden there were table and chairs outside so you could relax with your beer and the nearby "mix" stage provided some background music. The weather stayed dry, but with no sun and the wind picking up it got very cold sitting outside so we decided to get some nice hot food, I returned to the same Thai stall as yesterday and decided to go for the hotter Green Curry, unfortunately they were a bit less generous with the chicken and curry and more generous with the veggies today, but it was delicious.
As The Orb weren't due to be on stage for a few hours we decided to retreat to somewhere warmer, we retired to The Vintage for a couple beers. While enjoying a couple beers we heard from Twitter that the Mela site had been evacuated due to the high winds. While monitoring the internet for news about The Orb playing (Mela's twitter feed said they were planning on re-opening the site for the show). Meanwhile when Angie heard The Vintage had "V Nuts" she was ordering one in a flash, we all tried a little and it was very tasty. As the afternoon turned to early evening it was looking less likely that the Mela would re-open so we headed to Teuchter's Landing for more beer and a couple whiskies, shortly after arriving we heard that The Mela would not be re-opening and The Orb would not be performing :-( So we had a few more beers and whiskies...
