A New(ish) Vennel

It's strange but this got me thinking about my granny. I used to cut through the vennel at the foot of Lauriston to get to her house before they knocked it down (the vennel, not her house; & actually the tenement above it got knocked down). I think it was when they were building the Goldberg's store, also now long gone!

You don't get many vennels these days. Must have dropped out of the town planner's handbook or something.
