Fish School

Went to Hawaii's WoodShow in Linekona School - fabulous pieces of wood, carved, turned, built, furniture, musical instruments, tables . . . and more.
This wood is Cook pine, dappled in sunlight, each fish carved and then the surrounding surface blackened with a tool like an engraver. Has a wonderful "burning wood outdoors" kind of smell. And this is the inside of a kind of open smile shaped piece, with additional carving of plants and birds on the outside. Title is "Earth, Sea, and Sky" by Michael Patrick Smith from the Big Island.
Only one of many beautiful wooden pieces - happens every year about this time.
Hope to go back to show you more.
