The making of a self portrait

When I have finished the outline pencil sketch, all that's left to do is colour it in and I will be complete.

Have had this idea in my head for some time. In fact ever since I saw an animated gif file of a person's hand drawing a chef and the chef's drawn hand is reaching out of the paper and grabbing the other hand of the artist. This is a much simpler interpretation using the same techniques.

End result is OK but I wanted the sketch component to be more sketchy (less detail) so that it is more obvious that it is a sketch and so that it looks more 2 dimensional. I think there are lots of potential ideas using this technique, so don't be surprised if you see something similar popping up in future :-)

Yesterday was an unplanned day of gluttony. Cooked breakfast, ploughman's lunch (cheese and ham because I couldn't choose between them), 3 beers, a BBQ and a glass of red wine. Paid the price as I have just about managed to regain the pounds I lost since Germany. Oh well, as they say- 'you only live once' and it was such a good weekend.

My self imposed Photoshop ban didn't last very long I'm afraid. Must try harder :-)
