Sea and Sky

serene. stark. simple.

The straits of Georgia from the small ferry to the Gulf Islands mid afternoon. Looking South. (Actually the ghost of Mt. Baker is there in the haze....) We will have a peaceful quiet week I think, doing some work that needs to be done. And maybe some time watching the sea.

The Orcas have been seen lately running through Active Pass and near here. I was hoping and ready with the camera but all we saw was a whale boat streaming north.
And when I looked at last year's blip, there are the whales! It would have been great to see them same day 2 years in a row.

Edit: Decided to change the picture in the morning. :-) Almost the same (no Mt Baker) but looking West to Galiano.. Only 10 cars and a smattering of walk-ons on this little ferry. Hot and sunny for the first of September. The best trip! And this is part of my bench series.
