THE END IS COMING

The outdoor bowling season in Scotland comes to a close towards the end of September and competitive entries are played out in finals, an example of which we see a glimpse of here.
It is a final being played between two teams of Triples (i.e three players per side} and the three players on the left of the photograph are engrossed in discussing tactics and an anxious member of the opposing side, while his team mate looks on,. indicates to his skip (team captain) the spot to which a bowl should be delivered.
The body language and expressions of the competitors indicate the probable result, and it was accurate; the relaxed tacticians triumphed over the team who indicated here a sense of necessity--we need one here or it is the end. And it was.
