Burbo Bogs
I woke up this morning with a desire to walk as far as I could. I don't know why but I needed a cleansing hike on my own.
I have a consistent path for my favourite strolls, which takes me from my home in Litherland through to Burbobank in Crosby.
There are a few welcome views along the way. The lovely grassy Rimrose Valley, The Plaza Cinema, Crosby Lakeside and of course those rusty legends who make the trek 'Another Place'.
I walked further today, driven at one point by Morrissey's 'Everyday is Like Sunday'. It was a genius soundtrack moment describing "a coastal town they forgot to close down" with a billow of pale grey clouds above the Mersey.
So, I hit Burbobank, my usual 'about turn' point but decided to rock the extra two miles to Hightown. A simple walk ensued, two miles passed and I felt ace as I came upon the new turning point.
I photographed some new welcome views. Memorial benches, beached sailing boats and the usual seagull style wildlife pictures.
The extra two mile decision was such a great idea, until my wonderful bladder decided to contradict that thought. Two miles isn't a massive deal. It doesn't take that long, but with an urge to pee, every step can seem like a mile on it's own!
So on my pedometer it showed 26259 steps from my march, approximately 11 miles. I took wildlife pictures, comedy graffiti snaps from the power shed on the coastal path and rusty bloke snaps.......
......the most important picture was the one I've posted today. The wonderfully clean aeroplanealike toilets on Burbobank. I have never been so grateful to have correct change in my pocket. I've never been so happy to see a red light turn green. I've never been so chuffed to have a good old fashioned wee!
Thank you Burbo Bogs
