Barley field

Today we took a spontaneous trip out near the airport. The children had been talking lots about holidays and aeorplanes so we decided that since there weren't many of them in and plenty of staff, to take them there for a closer look!

We are fortunate in that we have our own driver and bus so we headed out in the afternoon and stopped at this barley field on the outskirts of the airport runway. We did initially try and get closer but the children soon became the same height as the barley which looked quite amusing. Typically we had to wait about 10-15 mins before we first saw and heard a plane but the kids loved the whole experience and found lots of things to look at as well as the planes.

I took this on my new mobile which actually has a better megapixel than my compact camera so am quite pleased with the result, handy to know I can use it in emergencies anyhow!
